We are collaborating with a Local Authority to recruit a skilled Benefits Assessor to join their Housing Revenues and Benefits Team.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently assessing entitlement to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, along with all related activities associated with claims processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within a team to deliver exceptional service to the public, using your expert knowledge to meet customer demands effectively.
  • Accurately and efficiently assess eligibility for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, ensuring timely and correct payments are made to the right individuals.
  • Process claims and changes of circumstance through various channels such as customer visits, face-to-face interviews, telephone, or post.
  • Assist in the recovery of overpayments of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, as well as outstanding debts owed to the council.

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must possess the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Legislation.
  • Proven experience of working effectively under pressure, achieving both individual and team targets.
