Colmore Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both in the classroom and in one-on-one settings.
- Assist teachers in creating a supportive learning environment.
- Encourage positive behavior and support emotional well-being.
- Help in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to support student development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, particularly within a SEMH setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with students.
- Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential).
