Product Design Manager

Location: Hybrid, WFH and office based in Staffordshire, with travel across the UK and occasional trips to Europe.

Salary: £45K-£55K depending on experience, car, 25 days holiday plus BH, laptop, health insurance, phone, pension etc

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday Friday

Role Overview:
Seeking a dynamic and skilled Product / Design Engineer to join my clients team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in the development of new and existing products, ensuring our solutions meet the highest industry standards.

The role involves a mix of office-based work and travel to customer sites, including occasional international visits to Europe.

They pride themselves on delivering cutting-edge products to customers across the UK and internationally, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance existing and new products within our food packaging equipment range.
• Collaborate with customers to understand and meet their specific requirements.
• Source and establish relationships with UK suppliers.
• Conduct on-site assessments and provide technical support across the UK and in Italy.
• Create detailed designs and technical drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Inventor.
• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, particularly in metalwork fabrication and machining plastics and metals.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Inventor.
• FMCG, food & beverage, plastics, packaging backgrounds would be advantageous
• Reduce the time build and delivery time to customers
• Strong understanding of metalwork fabrication and machining plastics and metals.
• Proven experience in product development and design engineering, ideally in an OEM or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and suppliers effectively.
• PC literacy, with the ability to use a variety of software tools and systems.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
