Position Overview
The team is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Software Engineers to join the Energy division. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing PLC-based control and SCADA systems for renewable power generation and storage projects. This includes system upgrades, modifications, and new build projects, offering a unique opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement PLC and SCADA/DCS systems.
Create technical documentation, including Function Design Specifications and Test Specifications.
Write software using IEC61131 standards (ladder, function block diagram, sequential function chart, and structured text).
Perform internal and customer Factory Acceptance Tests.
Ensure adherence to QA procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Travel and work on-site as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
At least 2 years of experience with one or more of the following:
Siemens PCS7, TIA Portal, Rockwell ControlLogix, or Schneider EcoStruxure.
Advanced SCADA configuration skills with tools like Siemens WinCC, COPA-DATA Zenon, or Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE.
Knowledge of communication protocols such as Profibus/Profinet, Modbus, or IEC 61850.
Familiarity with QA procedures and software lifecycle best practices.
Full UK driving license.
Desirable Skills
Experience with renewable power generation systems.
Familiarity with simulation software (e.g., SIMIT, PICS, WinMOD).
Knowledge of legacy PLCs/software and cybersecurity systems (IEC 62443).
