Overview:

First Military Executive Recruitment, on behalf of their client are looking for a Finance Director to lead their financial operations and drive strategic financial decisions. This role ensures the effective management of financial resources, supports business objectives, and maintains compliance with financial regulations.

Roles / Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the administrative and accounting functions directly supports the Company’s efficient, cost effective and client focused service. This work is of a routine nature across the area of our operations. Maintain and develop excellent relationships with the customer. Ensure the effective management and utilisation of resources is applied therefore providing continuous quality service. Implementing and review of all finance processes to ensure the effective operation of the business, without interruption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports, including trial balance, P&L statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and budget planning.
  • Ensure financial accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support business-wide process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
  • Experience in team management and business strategy.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the construction or infrastructure sector.
  • Knowledge of financial software and ERP systems.
