Responsibilities Include:

Operational HR

  • Develop, own, lead and deliver all operational HR activities including but not limited to legal, training, contractual terms and conditions, onboarding and integrating new starters, policy creation and roll out, training and development, payroll administration, sponsorship of immigrant workers, salary review and benefits management
  • Create, own, update, implement and oversee all HR processes, policies and procedures including the Employee Handbook ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System, ensuring all are up to date, legally compliant, reflect best practice and promote Company values and culture
  • Manage all complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries to termination, grievances, absence management, retirement and redundancy
  • Support, advise, train and guide all business leaders and employees on all HR matters ensuring best practice
  • Highlighting any HR related business risk and offering possible solutions
  • Manage the UK Group Sponsorship licences, support the management of workers visa process and deliver this for Business Services and Group employees as and when required

Training and Development

  • Manage the Companys competency management tools
  • Implement learning and development policy, procedures and practices
  • Create and deliver targeted inhouse training programmes as and when required
  • Manage the delivery of all external training and securing training grants for the Company
  • Manage the new starters probation review process, guide and support managers to ensure successful employee engagement
  • Manage the appraisal process in full

Payroll & Benefits

  • Maintain the Company salary scales for roles and grades
  • Administer the monthly payroll and payroll records
  • Provide first line advice and support on all payroll matters
  • Provide first line advice and support on all Company benefits ensuring renewals are done in a timely and accurate manner and the business is obtain the best services possible.
  • Be the first point of contact with our benefits broker
  • Work with appropriate parties on reward strategy to ensure the Company benefits offer the best benefits solutions for its staff within the cost restraints available

Reporting

  • Create, maintain and deliver the monthly Board report to Group level including accruals, headcount analysis, turnover and absence tracking
  • Create, maintain and deliver monthly operational activities reports for the business including probations, absence management etc
  • Create and deliver the monthly Staff Meeting HR report

Personal Specification:

Qualifications and Professional Accreditations

  • Educated to Degree (or equivalent) level would be desirable
  • CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent) qualified with current membership expected. Support maybe provided to achieve this

Essential or Desirable Skills and Abilities

  • Proven and extensive hands-on operational HR experience, ideally at Managerial or Leadership level
  • A solid knowledge base of all employment legislation and its application
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Sponsorship and the migrant worker process
  • Able to work autonomously and used to delivering an all-encompassing standalone HR function
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead others
  • Responsive, proactive and flexible working style
  • Excellent, confident communication skills, able to build successful working relationships across the Vulcain Group to Global MD level, able to foster open and honest conversations at all levels across the business
