My client based in Stonehouse is seeking to hire a Machine Shop Inspector due to expansion.

Summary

The Machine Shop Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all components utilised within the organisation comply with relevant specifications, drawings and documentation.

For this role candidates will need to have a knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and the ability to evaluate and problem solve. An understanding and experience in interpreting engineering drawings, certification, specifications and standards requirements (API, ISO, PED, etc) is essential.

Previous experience of working in a Quality Inspection role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including experience of metrology/calibration/FARO Arm CMM would be an advantage.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ensuring that all machined components within the Machine Shop are to an acceptable standard, specification and approved drawings.
  • Inspecting all machined components to drawings ensuring they are to the highest standard of quality.
  • Management of the instruments calibration system.
  • Completing inspections, assessments and providing documented reports clearly identifying deficiencies and non-conformance to specifications and drawings.
  • Completion of technical machine shop inspection using Faro 3D CMM measuring equipment (in addition to basic mechanical measurement activities).
  • Complete inspection of spares and repairs components.
  • Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance. You will need excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.

  • 38 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday – 07.30 to 16.00
  • [30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day]
  • Friday – 07.30 to 13.30
