I am excited to be working with a fantastic disability charity in search of an Interim Financial Controller. This is an immediate start, full-time (will consider 4-days a week), mainly remote with one day a week based in Stourbridge 6-month FTC. We are seeking an experienced Finance Controller to lead financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service. You will manage key finance functions, including accounts receivable/payable, treasury, payroll, and fixed assets, while working closely with internal teams to optimise financial resources.
Key Responsibilities
•    Oversee year-end processes and prepare draft statutory financial statements (Charities SORP).
•    Support the implementation of a new finance system and drive process improvements.
•    Manage the month-end process, consolidating reports with Finance Business Partners.
•    Assist in budget preparation and implementation within the accounting system.
•    Ensure strong financial controls across the organization.
•    Administer bank accounts, credit cards, and cash flow management.
•    Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee VAT compliance, including quarterly returns.
•    Liaise with investment advisers to manage the Trust’s portfolio.
•    Provide financial training and advice to budget holders.
About You
✔ Qualified or Final-Year Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or QBE.
✔ 5+ years of senior finance experience, ideally within the charity sector.
✔ Proven expertise in statutory accounts preparation, audits, and financial reporting.
✔ Strong knowledge of payroll, HMRC requirements, and VAT returns.
✔ Experience with treasury management and cash flow forecasting.
✔ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
