Quality Engineer - Powerchair - Medical Devices

Our client is a world leader in the development, design, manufacture and distribution of innovative, high-quality manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, motorized scooters, standard and customized seating and positioning systems, and daily living aids. The companies aim is to improve customers' lives every day.

Main duties:

Responsible for carrying out QC/Inspection process for IQC, IPQC, FQC, OQC as required.

Investigate quality issues arising from IQC, IPQC, FQC & OQC, non-conforming product, CMS, Regulatory and warranty returns and other reported issues.

Instigate and monitor corrective action internally and externally when non-conforming issues arise.

Collate and prepare quality data from IQC, IPQC, FQC & OQC, non-confirming product, CMS and warranty returns to monitor quality performance of internal and external suppliers.

Carry out supplier audits for existing suppliers and new suppliers for re-sourcing of component parts or NPI (nationally & internationally).

Provide QA/QC input for NPI through SPP and Life cycle process, involving PQP, HARM, FAI (DFMEA & PFMEA) & 5 above at all stages including on site supplier visit(s) to support initial and subsequent production.

Work with resourcing teams on cost saving projects or developing/monitoring QC/QA with new suppliers

Undertake internal and external quality audits as required.

Prepare relevant documents in support of the QMS or EMS (processes, work instructions, forms etc).

Participate/carry out training and development exercises that are quality related.

Adopt a continuous improvement approach to problem solving to reduce the number of issues/customer complaints.

Manage the calibration system for Inspection and Measuring Equipment, including carrying out and arranging calibration.

Carry out other related duties that may be requested from supervisor/manager.
