MET TechnicianLocation: StourbridgeSalary: Up to £52,000 OTE (including site bonus), depending on experience and qualificationsShift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)OverviewThe MET Technician is responsible for dismantling and reassembling damaged vehicles in line with repair estimates and procedures. This role requires attention to detail to ensure safety standards are met, and quality checks are carried out. Qualified staff will work independently, while non-qualified staff will work under supervision.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Dismantle and rebuild vehicles in a professional manner, ensuring quality checks are performed in accordance with company processes.
  • Complete jobs within the estimated time frame, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Advise the Bodyshop Team Leader of any additional work identified while working on a vehicle.
  • Order parts as per the estimate to ensure timely repairs and return any unused parts to the parts department for credit.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations, ensuring safety materials are within the appropriate use-by dates and fit for purpose.
  • Report any deviations from the estimate or procedures to the estimator immediately.
  • Provide supervision to non-qualified technicians and ensure they meet company standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all housekeeping policies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an MET Technician (essential).
  • ATA accreditation is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dismantling and reassembly processes.
  • Ability to perform quality checks and work efficiently to meet time estimates.
  • Good communication skills to advise team leaders on additional work required.
  • Attention to detail to ensure all parts and materials used are fit for purpose.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in the workshop environment.
