Murray Myers have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Miller/Turner Programmer, Setter Operator to join this organisation that has been in business for many years.

Location: Stourbridge

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
39 hours per week

Job Overview:

As a CNC Programmer/Operator/Setter, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, responsible for producing high-quality components to precise specifications. This role is primarily focused on operating one of our large capacity milling machines, dealing with a diverse range of components. The ideal candidate will be eager to tackle a variety of manufacturing challenges and contribute to our commitment to excellence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program CNC machines using Heidenhain control systems.
  • Efficiently set up and operate the Milling Machine.
  • Monitor and oversee milling processes, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards and complete necessary documentation.
  • Conduct in-process quality assurance checks and first-off inspections.
  • Report any operational or maintenance issues to the team leader.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the client or team leader.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proficient in setting up and operating Milling Machines.
  • Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming (ISO or conversational).
  • Competence in using inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and a proactive approach to challenges.

Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Proven experience with Heidenhain control systems.
  • High attention to detail and precision.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and effective time management.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and machining to exact tolerances.
  • Essential: Previous experience operating CNC Milling Machines.
  • Preferred: Time-served or apprenticeship qualifications in machining, with a preference for relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO programming and control systems such as Mazatrol, Mazak is advantageous; training will be provided for skilled engineers.
