Murray Myers are recruiting for this exciting role as a CNC Programmer/Operator/Setter, you will play a crucial role in their manufacturing team, ensuring the production of high-quality components to exact specifications. This position focuses on the operation of our large capacity milling machines and involves working with a diverse range of components, from castings to fabrications of various shapes and sizes. We are looking for a dedicated professional who is enthusiastic about solving manufacturing challenges and committed to maintaining our standards of excellence.

Role Overview:

As a CNC Programmer/Operator/Setter, you will:

  • Program CNC machines using Heidenhain control systems.
  • Set up and operate the Milling Machine efficiently.
  • Monitor and oversee milling processes to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards and complete necessary documentation.
  • Conduct in-process quality assurance checks and first-off inspections.
  • Report operational or maintenance issues to the team leader.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the client or team leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC Milling Machines: Utilize your experience with Heidenhain control systems to produce precise components.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure all machining is performed to exact tolerances, adhering to engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Work Ethic: Demonstrate strong punctuality, effective time management, and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Training and Development: Leverage existing knowledge and be open to learning additional control systems, such as Mazatrol, with training provided.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Heidenhain control systems.
  • Previous experience operating CNC Milling Machines.
  • High attention to detail and precision in machining.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and effective time management.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and machining to exact tolerances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Time-served or apprenticeship qualifications in machining.
  • Knowledge of ISO programming.
  • Familiarity with control systems such as Mazatrol (advantageous; training provided for skilled engineers).
