Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced machine setter to join an ever-growing and well-established plastic injection molding company.

Reporting to the production manager, this is role requires the ability to meet technical challenges, achieve the business target and objectives, and exceed customer expectations through technical excellence.

You will be responsible for ensuring all tool changes are carried out safely and efficiently and aligned with the production planned timings. Machine maintenance regimes are upheld to the manufacturer's guidelines. Continuously monitoring machine efficiency and quality of parts produced.

Duties to Include

  • Ensure timely tool changes are completed in conjunction with the production programme.
  • Closely monitor machine performance against approved production timings and quality standards, and act promptly to production problems to ensure minimal rejection levels.
  • Ensure machinery is safe and serviced in accordance with manufacturers' maintenance guidelines.
  • Precision production sign-offs in accordance with master samples, ensuring all initial testing is completed to customer requirements before handover to production.
  • Suggest procedural changes to achieve maximum production rates and improved quality standards.
  • Proactively engage in production & QHSE meetings.
  • Ensure production areas are free from safety risks and safe working practices are adopted.
  • Management of daily duties and staff

Position Requirements

  • Must have transferable experience and training within plastic injection moulding industry, preferably with experience working with Negri Bossi & Borche machines. Robotics experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy environment for yourself and others.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to fault find, perform diagnostic analysis & trouble shoot issues.
  • Knowledge of all types of thermoplastics and their characteristics within injection moulding.
  • Flexibility working, providing cover when required.
  • Excellent timekeeper and live within an easily commutable distance.
  • Experience of managing workload and team
