Vehicle Damage AssessorLocation: StourbridgeSalary: Up to £46,000 OTE (including site bonus), depending on experience and qualificationsShift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)OverviewThe Vehicle Damage Assessor is responsible for preparing accurate vehicle repair estimates as specified by insurers and customers. This role ensures that vehicle repairs are carried out efficiently while generating satisfactory profit margins. Qualified staff will work independently, while non-qualified staff will be supervised by a qualified technician.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare manual and computerized estimates in line with insurance company/customer requirements to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Order parts, ensuring correct supply, and manage any returns or discrepancies.
  • Check parts received for authenticity and suitability, including verifying whether parts are genuine, non-genuine, or second-hand.
  • Maintain a file of all estimates and ensure that unauthorised work is identified before proceeding. Follow up on unauthorised estimates to obtain proper authorisation.
  • Communicate with Bodyshop personnel to ensure clear understanding of the work required based on estimates.
  • If a vehicle is deemed a “total loss” by agreement with the insurance company, communicate this to the Bodyshop.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the working environment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor (essential).
  • ATA accreditation is preferred.
  • Experience with Audatex and Autoflow systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Knowledge of parts and repair processes, including distinguishing between genuine, non-genuine, and second-hand parts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, insurance companies, and Bodyshop personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain estimates and follow-up on authorisation.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations in the workshop environment.
