Job Responsibilities:


  • Provide high-quality support to children and young people in a residential care setting.

  • Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the well-being and safety of all residents.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues, creating a supportive and nurturing environment.

  • Implement individual care plans, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments to meet the evolving needs of the residents.

  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities to support personal development and community involvement.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in team meetings, contributing to the development of best practices and care strategies.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within the residential environment.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Experience: 3- 5 years within a similar environment

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent (or be willing to work towards).

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to build rapport with young people, families, and colleagues.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • Empathy: A genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs and backgrounds.

  • Organisational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety regulations, and a commitment to keeping young people safe.

  • Flexibility: Adaptability to meet changing circumstances and the individual needs of residents.

  • Enhanced DBS: Must hold an Enhanced DBS check (on the update service preferred).
