As a key player, you'll have the opportunity to :

Lead the charge in reviewing and recommending advanced manufacturing techniques for new business opportunities.

Champion continuous improvement initiatives for both new and existing projects, pushing the boundaries of efficiency and quality.

Collaborate with machining teams to streamline production, reduce waste, and cut costs-all while fostering an environment of learning and growth.

Solve technical challenges with a hands-on approach, directly influencing production while driving the adoption of best practices and new technologies across the department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

In this role, you'll take ownership of:

Crafting detailed Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s) for all jobs within the department.

Identifying key machining requirements for new opportunities and leading the implementation of improvements.

Strategically shaping the future of our CNC operations, including supporting investment decisions and technology advancements.

Leading training efforts, sharing your expertise with both new and experienced team members to continuously improve operational performance.

Providing data-driven insights and recommendations to the Business Manager, ensuring the highest standards of production efficiency and problem-solving.

What You Bring

Your experience and expertise will shine in this role if you have:

Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies (desirable).

Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office utilities.

Solid experience with CNC programming (One CNC), CAD/CAM offline programming, and operating HAAS & Hurco 3- and 4-axis machines, as well as Doosan and other Turning Centres.

A comprehensive understanding of general milling and turning processes, with at least 5 years of experience in a machine shop environment.

The flexibility to thrive in an SME environment and support activities across two locations (Kidderminster, Milton Keynes).
