Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs? This role offers you the opportunity to work one-to-one with a Year 5 student with Autism at a Good Ofsted-rated primary school in Stourport-on-Severn. You'll play a key role in helping this child succeed in the classroom, providing tailored support to meet their specific learning needs.
This full-time SEN Teaching Assistant position starts as soon as possible on a long-term basis.
Job Role:
- Provide one-to-one support to a Year 5 student with Autism, ensuring their individual needs are met throughout the school day.
- Assist with implementing strategies and techniques to support the child’s learning, behaviour, and emotional needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher to adapt and differentiate tasks to suit the child’s learning style.
- Encourage positive behaviour and use strategies to support focus and engagement in classroom activities.
- Track progress and communicate regularly with the teacher and SENCO to ensure effective support.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally supporting children with ADHD or other additional needs.
- Knowledge of Ausitm and strategies to support children with this condition in the classroom.
- Experience working one-to-one with students, providing tailored educational support.
- Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals.
- A proactive, flexible attitude and a passion for helping children overcome challenges.
