Applause IT are recruiting for a Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer for a dynamic and growing IT services business in the West Midlands. The company provides high-quality IT support services to various private sector clients. They are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their team in Stourport-on-Severn.

About the Role:

The Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer will be responsible for delivering remote and on-site technical support to clients. Key duties include handling support tickets, performing routine IT system checks and maintenance, and executing project work such as hardware installations, infrastructure upgrades, and cloud transformation projects. The role involves a mix of technical hands-on work and client interactions, requiring travel to client sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical support for client systems.
  • Prepare and configure IT equipment, including servers, switches, and routers.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, and Azure.
  • Implement and maintain backup solutions and firewall configurations.
  • Oversee migrations to cloud infrastructure and maintain networking hardware.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and provide support for new project installations.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Intune, and Azure.
  • Experience in server installation (Windows Server 2016+).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, firewall management, and RMM systems.
  • Demonstrable experience with infrastructure installation and hardware configuration.
  • Capability to manage IT projects and provide pre-sales assistance.
  • Clean driving license required.
