We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead sales and business development activities for our product range. This role is ideal for a candidate with a background in food processing capital equipment sales or project management. The successful candidate will be office-based initially to become well-acquainted with our operating systems, processes, and product range.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct market research to identify and investigate market opportunities for the equipment.
  • Engage in telephone prospecting and manage customer visits and meetings to promote and market the equipment.
  • Create and develop live sales enquiries and achieve required levels of customer visits weekly.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet sales and profitability targets.
  • Set up and oversee customer trials, send sales introductory letters, and literature packs.
  • Write and send targeted area mailshots, including email and telephone follow-ups.
  • Liaise with suppliers on specific projects and learn about the equipment range and suppliers.
  • Promote the full product range to customers and prospects and assist with machine installations.
  • Update the company’s CRM system regularly and provide weekly and monthly sales reports to the Sales Director.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in sales or project management, ideally within food processing capital equipment.
  • Demonstrable strategic approach to growing sales.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and report effectively to the Sales Director.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and producing detailed sales reports.
