An exciting opportunity is on offer for an experienced and highly organised Internal Sales Executive to join a friendly and dynamic sales team.

As the first point of contact for customers, the Internal Sales Executive will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service with professionalism and confidence. The successful candidate will be a key player in driving new business, supporting the commercial team, and building relationships that really matter. This role will involve working closely with colleagues to gather and share valuable insights, provide accurate quotes, and identify opportunities to grow the business. Strong negotiating skills will be essential in achieving sales targets and ensuring great value for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in following up on sales leads and generating new business via phone and email.
  • Identify potential new customers through cold calls, emails, and online platforms, and arrange appointments for the Business Development Manager to follow up on.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with both new and existing customers – focusing on customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Ensure quotations are always up-to-date and competitive.
  • Assist the commercial team with all commercial administration tasks and help raise quotes when needed.
  • Coordinate payments at the time of order placement or set up alternative payment methods as required.
  • Stay on top of the sales and information inbox, responding promptly to customer queries.
  • Manage smaller orders directly and pass on larger or more complex enquiries to the Business Development Manager or Commercial Director.
  • Take customer orders and liaise with the Distribution Team to schedule deliveries quickly and efficiently.
  • Produce monthly reports to track the company’s progress in relation to sales targets, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work closely with Operations to monitor aggregate stock levels and ensure customer demands are met for upcoming projects.
  • Field inquiries and help schedule work for pump hire, volumetric, and ready-mix sales when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' customer service experience, with a slight focus on sales.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a natural ability to listen and understand customer needs.
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone and handling multiple calls and emails throughout the day.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A self-starter who can work independently but also enjoys being part of a team.
  • Good numeracy skills, allowing for quick and accurate calculation of sales prices, discounts, and percentages.
  • A passion for upselling and delivering customer value.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to make things happen!
