We are looking for an Assembly Operative to work in a mechanical capacity for a manufacturing firm in Stowmarket, Suffolk.

Starting salary circa 13ph with training provided. Overtime is also regularly available, all at increased rates of pay.

The company are looking for someone who has a foundation level or a basic working knowledge in mechanical engineering.

This is a permanent position after a successful 3 month trial.


Overview of the role: -

  • You will be reporting to the Production Supervisor and will be involved with the production of engines using hand / power tools.


Assembly Operative duties: -

  • As an assembly operative you will be required to complete assembly of mechanical, electrical & hydraulic components by reading engineering drawings
  • Operating various hand, air, and power tools to manufacture machinery in a timely manner
  • Perform component re-work as and when needed
  • Responsible for picking parts to a pick list accurately
  • Supporting the rest of the team by testing and preparing parts for final dispatch


Ideally you will have a manufacturing background with some form of engineering qualification. Or have worked in a similar production role that involves mechanical assembly.

You must be competent with hand / power tools, able to follow drawings & instructions & work to your own initiative.

Hours of work: -

  • Monday - Friday, 07:00-15:30
