We are currently recruiting for an Industrial Mechanic to join a medium-sized industrial plant, which is part of a large global organisation. The role involves a range of duties including the installation, maintenance, and removal of machinery and industrial mechanical equipment within the factory. The successful candidate will also perform general maintenance and installation work in the office environment, working under minimal supervision and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.



Day to Day of the role:

  • Safely complete routine repairs, installations, and removals of mechanical equipment such as jaw crushers, conveyor belts, pneumatic valves, and hydraulic systems.
  • Operate a variety of fixed and mobile power tools, including pillar drills, bandsaws, welding sets, lathe & mill, plasma cutters, and CNC plasma table.
  • Use vehicles such as counterbalance forklift trucks, articulated boom, and scissor lifts.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns by identifying the root cause and delivering field repairs.
  • Interpret mechanical diagrams and undertake additional responsibilities as required by the business.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 equivalent qualification in engineering or workshop technology, or 3 years of experience in an industrial mechanical setting.
  • Familiarity with the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to interpret risk assessments.


Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Machine shop experience.
  • Experience in welding.
  • Previous experience working in an industrial setting.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
