In this permanent role, you will have the opportunity to manage a challenging caseload of complex and high-value Personal Injury claims, applying your expertise to conduct thorough investigations into indemnity, liability, and quantum.

Our rapidly growing and market-leading Specialist Insurance Client is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Claims Handler to manage some of their largest claims, often valued in the millions.

Working closely with their Panel Solicitors, you will develop strategies to achieve optimal outcomes, particularly in catastrophic or multi-track claims exceeding 100k.

This is a role that can be performed on a hybrid working basis, between your home and their office.

The main responsibilities of a Personal Injury Handler role include:

  • Investigate and resolve high value, complex, and strategically important claims to ensure they are properly reserved and settled at optimum cost
  • Establishing how and why events occurred and the legal liabilities which may arise
  • Obtain all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
  • Correspond with all parties to the case quickly and professionally
  • Obtain medical or expert evidence and wage information where appropriate
  • Negotiate settlement where appropriate, in accordance with authority limits
  • Instruct and control defence solicitors, through to Trial if necessary
  • Ensure that costs are kept to a minimum
  • Provide structured feedback on any Personal Injury claim outcome where wider technical benefit is identified
  • Act as a Technical Referral point to provide excellent claims handling advice, actively support the enhancement of the technical performance of the wider claims department

To be a successful Personal Injury Claims Handler, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience and success in managing catastrophic or multi-track claims close to, or exceeding, 100k
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively challenge where appropriate
  • Strong investigative skills
  • Good understanding of industry procedures, products, and services in the Insurance sector
