Your new roleReporting to the Gas Safety Manager and the Head of Technical, the Commercial Gas Supervisor will be responsible for the safe flow of gas across designated sites, managing the compliance of multiple LPG installations.This role will see you ensure the requirements of the MOD Gas Safety Case are carried out and maintained to a high standard, ensure all gas works are fully compliant and in line with the requirements of JSP 375 Vol3 Ch8, and provide technical support to ensure gas works are completed compliantly.You will support the effective and timely delivery of statutory, mandatory and reactive maintenance and gas-related projects, keep and maintain the Gas Safety Management Plan, records and update as required, assess the competence of Gas Skilled Persons for appointment and review experience and performance before re-appointment, and at other times as necessary, and ensure skilled persons are aware of any restrictions related to their work. Where necessary, you will be required to suspend the appointment of Skilled Persons.You will also produce risk assessments, method statements and, where necessary, safety programmes and Gas Permits to Work to a high quality, reduce the number of corrective actions (CARs) raised and close existing CARs within agreed timescales, and lead by example across the contract by achieving objectives and consistently demonstrating the Company values.What you'll need to succeedFirst and foremost, you will be a fully qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer, with HND in Gas Engineering and SMSTS or equivalent qualifications.You should have experience of supervising site operations, including managing staff, planning, directing and controlling activities and agreeing scope and priorities of work, with excellent communication skills and significant practical management experience in Safe Systems of Work.You must have a gas background in either Gas Safe or Gas Utility Network competence, and be registered with Gas Safe or Energy Utility Skills Register or both.Your COCN1, HTR1, CCN1, CODNCO1, ICPN1 certificates.What you'll get in return
