Reed Food & FMCG are exclusively representing our client in the ambient food category on the search for a new Production Manager role.

Responsibilities include:

  • To lead Line / Team Leaders and Production Operatives to deliver a quality and customer focused efficient production operation on a day to day basis.
  • Accountable for ensuring production teams are trained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Methods of Manufacture, Health & safety and Product Specifications to ensure that standards are achieved & maintained.
  • Work in collaboration with all the Operations team, Picking and Planning to ensure the correct stock is available for production on time and in the correct quantities.
  • To manage staff to ensure adherence to the production plan as far as is practicable to ensure that products are packed in time to meet scheduled collection times.
  • Manage all processes and provide support through the effective management of stock to the production lines
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining a highly competent and engaged team by identifying areas of improvement, to maintain a high skill base during weekends, holidays or increased shift levels. Ensuring that quality and efficiencies are maintained.
  • Monitor the daily performance of the operation and take a proactive approach to improve underperforming areas though coaching, training and redeployment of skills as necessary.
  • Lead and encourage active participation in daily meetings, reporting/highlighting any areas of concern. Innovate new ways of working utilising the current framework and add value.
  • Effectively managing budgets including staffing requirements against demands.
  • Overall responsibility for the relevant area of the operation ensuring SLAs (where appropriate) and KPIs are met and costs are controlled.
  • To work proactively with Technical/Quality department to address any areas of concern.
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve through effective root cause analysis.
  • To work cross functionally with all departments and support when required in Production, to ensure on overall smooth operation and demand is met.
  • Oversee the resourcing within the department to ensure we meet our working time directive.
