Location: SuffolkSalary: £45,000 - £60,000
Platform Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturer of precision-engineered equipment, seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to drive innovation, enhance product performance, and provide technical expertise across the engineering lifecycle.

The Role:+ Solve intricate engineering challenges and develop creative solutions+ Lead 3D CAD design of precision components+ Improve and refine existing product lines for enhanced performance+ Design, prototype, test, and validate mechanical systems+ Develop mechanisms, components, and assemblies to meet global standards+ Produce and maintain bills of materials (BOMs)+ Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical challenges
Key Requirements+ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline+ Expertise in 3D CAD software - SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar+ Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept to manufacture+ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes - machining, casting & fabrication+ Industry background in rotating equipment, oil & gas, subsea, or power generation+ Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics is a plus
