About the Company:A PE backed business in Cambridgeshire is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to support their finance team during a critical period. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization and contribute to the smooth execution of a pivotal budget cycle process and year-end close.

Key Responsibilities:As the Interim FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Budget Cycle Management:

    • Taking ownership of the budget-setting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with strategic business goals.
    • Collaborating with key stakeholders to review and refine budgets.
  2. Year-End Preparation:

    • Coordinating the year-end financial processes to ensure deadlines are met and data is complete and consistent.
    • Assisting in the analysis and preparation of year-end reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Forecasting and Reporting:

    • Managing rolling monthly forecasts to provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership.
    • Delivering timely and accurate financial analysis to support key business decisions.
  4. Team Management:

    • Leading a team of commercial finance professionals, providing guidance, motivation, and hands-on support during this busy period.
    • Ensuring high-quality delivery and effective communication within the team.
  5. Stakeholder Management:

    • Acting as the key liaison between finance, operational teams, and external advisors to ensure seamless collaboration.
    • Identifying potential risks and proposing solutions for continuous improvement in financial processes.
  6. Compliance and Governance:

    • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations while maintaining strong financial controls.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Proven experience as an FP&A Manager or Senior FP&A professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with budget cycles, forecasting, and year-end preparation.
  • Strong leadership skills and a track record of managing and mentoring finance teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commercial mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency with financial modelling, Excel, and relevant ERP or budgeting platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
