Established independent luxury Tour Operator based in South West Suffolk is seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable Africa Travel Specialist to join their small but long standing team.
This is a specialist tour operator who is dedicated exclusively to crafting tailor-made holidays to East and Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. They have a great passion for Africa and invest heavily in the knowledge and experience, allowing us to create bespoke itineraries that connect their clients with the continent's most extraordinary wildlife, landscapes, and cultures.
This is ideally an office-based role in Suffolk, however our client will be willing to consider homeworking (within the UK) for experienced Africa travel specialists, after a period of initial training in the office.
The ideal candidate will have wide-ranging firsthand experience of African safari travel, strong sales skills, and a deep understanding of safari logistics, lodges, and conservation-driven tourism.
Our client can offer a highly generous starting salary + OTE & excellent industry benefits, including up to 3 educational trips per year.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Sales & Itinerary Design: Craft customised safari itineraries based on client preferences, interests, and budgets.
- Client Consultation: Engage with clients via phone, email, and video calls to understand their travel aspirations and provide expert advice.
- Destination Expertise: Stay up to date with safari regions, wildlife movements, seasonal variations, and accommodation offerings.
- Be available to travel to Africa several times per year to increase personal knowledge and stay up to date.
- Customer Experience: Manage each booking from start to finish, with assistance from our sales support team, including providing pre-departure advice and post-trip follow-ups.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Firsthand travel experience in Africa, ideally with a background in selling tailor-made safaris.
- Proven track record in consultative sales, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage complex itineraries and multi-step bookings.
- Honest, hard-working, ambitious and have good personal resilience.
- Genuine enthusiasm for conservation, wildlife, and sustainable tourism.
