The Welcombe Hotel, a magnificent Neo-Jacobean mansion in Stratford-upon-Avon, is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager. This role will coordinate and oversee the hotel's comprehensive refurbishment and repositioning, ensuring it remains a premier destination for years to come. The successful applicant will already have significant experience as General Manager role in a full service, upscale or luxury property. Experience within destination country house properties is definitely preferable but not essential.
This is a very exciting opportunity and will require the Hotel General Manager to be resilient and determined to make a vision a reality and have the ability to build a high performing team that they will lead from the front.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 3 years at general manager level within a full service, upscale or luxury hotel.
Experience of leading a major refurbishment or redevelopment project
Service and results orientated with strong commercial skills
Exposure to finance, in particular showing a good understanding of the key revenue drivers in a luxury hotel/resort
Previous experience in food & beverage, ideally across multiple outlets
Experience of setting a strategy and ability to build, lead, empower and coach a large, diverse team
The General Manager will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of the hotel.
