Role: Team Leader / Senior Independent Disability Domestic Violence Advocate
Based: Leytonstone
Rate: £24ph to £25ph umb
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Temp until February 2025 with possible extension
Hours: 28 hours – Hybrid , 4 days from home and 1 day in the office
Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity based in London is looking to recruit a Team Leader / Senior Independent Disability Domestic Violence Advocate to lead a team in providing a high quality frontline domestic abuse support service to disabled people from diverse communities in London who are victims/survivors of domestic violence
Synopsis of duties:
- Lead a team of 3 Independent Disability Domestic Violence Advocates managing referrals and being the link person between management and IDDVA's
- Be responsible for your own personal learning development and keep up to date on research, relevant legislation, policy and practice, and other literature relevant to the role.
- Participate in supervision, training and meetings as required, and assist in the development of services in line with agreed development plans.
- To ensure that all service delivery by the team meets expected Quality Standards
- To ensure that clients’ access, communication, and cultural needs are met
- To ensure confidentiality and sensitivity in line with policies, Community Legal Service, MARAC, and other guidelines.
- Ensure that staff reporting any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are dealt with immediately
- Working closely with the users to manage their needs on a caseload basis.
- This will involve liaising with other agencies to help the people who are being referred to the service who need emotional support and guidance to achieve a positive outcome.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children, acknowledging safeguarding concerns and responding appropriately
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse in a professional capacity
- Experience of managing a caseload of vulnerable individuals
- Experience of managing complex casework, including issues such as child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, working with trauma in adults and children and crisis intervention
