Your new companyHays Education is partnering with schools in South Warwickshire, seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for 1-1 support with children with ASD. Hays has been a trusted provider in South Warwickshire for over 10 years. The hours vary depending on the school. Most schools require 8.30-3.30, 5 days a week.Your new roleAs a 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support a Child with ASD: Work directly with a child with ASD in the classroom, helping them access the curriculum through visual aids and tailored activities.
  • Create a Stimulating Environment: Develop and maintain a learning environment that meets the child's specific needs, ensuring they are engaged and supported.
  • Maintain Records and Track Progress: Keep detailed records of the child's progress, behaviour, and any interventions used. Regularly update and review these records to ensure the child's needs are being met.
  • Collaborate with professionals: Work closely with speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and other professionals to implement strategies and interventions that support the child's development.
  • Provide Emotional Support: Offer patience, understanding, and sensitivity to the child's needs, helping them feel safe and supported in the school environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience with SEN, particularly ASD
  • A passion for improving children's school experiences is essential.
  • At least 2 years of referenceable childcare experience (voluntary or paid) is required.
