Role - HSE ManagerLocation- Long Martson, WarwickshireSalary- £60k-£62k + 10% performance related bonus Your role as a HSE Manager Our client specialises in the leasing and asset management of all types of railway rolling stock and associated equipment. The Long Marston site is home to a rail test track, an asset management facility, and other facilities suitable for use within the rail industry. There is an operational team tasked with the safe running of the site. This role will join the team to support on the delivery of the strategic projects and upgrade projects.Your duties and responsibilities as HSE Manager:
- Champion the development of a safe culture on site in line with company vision and values
- Develop and implement site Health and Safety Procedures, along with safe methods of working to ensure continued compliance with applicable health and Safety legislation and industry standards
- Develop and maintain a suite of risk assessments to cover the range of activities carried out on site (rail and non-rail)
- Identify health and safety training needs, ensuring that the staff have the relevant levels of accredited competence to fulfil their roles. This will include organising appropriate training in conjunction with the Learning and Development Manager
- Safety Management of 3rd Party Contractors - including CDM compliance (where applicable), review and sign off of RAMS, and issue of site work permits
- Investigate all site accidents/ incidents and near misses, ensuring that the company close call process is embedded
- Carry out site safety inspections (planned and unplanned) ensuring that the results of these are recorded and that all open actions are closed in a timely manner
- Carry out site safety audits - including periodic audits of site tenants ensuring that the results of these are recorded and that all open actions are closed in a timely manner
- Implement and manage health and safety actions/ recommendations tracking ensuring that the results of these are recorded and that all open actions are closed in a timely manner
- Produce a monthly site health & safety report which includes site related Health and Safety Key Performance Indictors (KPI's)
- Develop Health and Safety alerts, bulletins, notices, ensuring that these are read and understood by all staff employed at the site and regular site users
- Carry out health and safety briefings and toolbox talks on a monthly basis as a minimum
To be successful in your role as a HSE Manager, you should have the following skills and experience:
- 3 - 5 years safety management experience in a safety critical industry (preferably within rail engineering/ operations depots)
- Development of Health & Safety, quality and environmental management systems
- Mobilisation of new sites/ operations
- Demonstrable experience of delivering a positive and sustaining safe delivery culture in an operational environment
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Trained risk assessor (desirable)
- Trained Accident investigator (desirable)
