About the Role:We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Town Planner to join a highly respected planning consultancy based in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon. This is an exciting opportunity to gain invaluable experience within a growing team, working across a variety of planning projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

As an Assistant Town Planner, you will support senior planners in the preparation of planning applications, policy research, and development assessments. You'll have the opportunity to be involved in both strategic and technical aspects of planning, liaising with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders. This role offers the chance to develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, with real potential for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
  • Conduct site appraisals and contribute to planning reports.
  • Undertake planning policy research and analysis.
  • Provide support in negotiating with local authorities and stakeholders.
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to project progress.
  • Stay updated on relevant planning legislation and policies.

About You:To succeed in this role, you will need to be an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in town planning and the built environment. You will have a degree in Town Planning (or a related field) and ideally be working towards your RTPI membership. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of planning legislation and procedures.
