About the RoleAs an Assistant Planner, you will play a key role in supporting a range of planning projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Handling phone and email enquiries.
- Preparing Scope of Works and briefing notes for clients.
- Liaising with case officers, clients, and consultants regarding third-party reports and project updates.
- Conducting site assessments and evaluating development potential, including planning histories, policy analysis, and material considerations.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications through the planning system.
- Collaborating with colleagues to expand knowledge of Planning Law and Practice and seeking opportunities to develop within the profession.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- An undergraduate qualification, ideally with planning-related modules (RTPI accredited).
- At least 12 months' planning experience, preferably in the private sector.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in relevant software.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- A collaborative and team-focused mindset.
