GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Senior Policy Planner to our Public Sector client in Stratford upon Avon. The Senior Policy Planner will assist with the provision of planning policy and housing development functions. This will include preparing policy documents, and implementing and monitoring planning policies and proposals, as well as dealing with a variety of requests for advice and information regarding strategic planning.

Main Duties of the Senior Policy Planner:

  • Take a lead role in the preparation of Local Plan documents as well as other formal and informal planning policy documents
  • Provide policy advice for Planning Developments to stakeholders and process and report on planning applications
  • Assist in preparing advice and responses to policy documents from various stakeholders
  • Act as a project co-ordinator for projects relating to planning policy proposals as well as monitoring the relevant budgets

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in a senior role in which you have worked independently
  • Experience of both project and stakeholder management
  • Sound working knowledge of current planning policy, legislation and good practice
  • Recent experience of development plan preparation
  • Experience of managing plan examination hearings and planning appeals
