Project Manager – District Heating, Sustainable Heating and Renewables

Location: London & South Region

Salary: £60-65k basic + Package

Unify HQ is proud to recruit on behalf of our client, a forward-thinking company leading the way in sustainable heating and cooling solutions. As a Project Manager, you will oversee district heating projects, ensuring new connections, maintenance tasks, and infrastructure upgrades are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

You will excel not only in managing multi-disciplinary projects (civils, mechanical, and electrical) but also in the administrative aspects of project management, ensuring all health and safety, CDM regulations, and compliance paperwork are completed to a high standard. This includes managing local authority planning applications and overseeing project documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead district heating projects from handover to completion, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Collaborate on project scopes and execution plans alongside senior management.
  • Coordinate contractors, site teams, and stakeholders to meet project deadlines and budgets.

Health & Safety and Compliance:

  • Oversee health and safety standards across all projects, ensuring CDM regulations are fully adhered to.
  • Complete and manage compliance paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage local authority planning applications and ensure timely discharge of conditions.
  • Conduct site inspections to confirm compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

Project Administration:

  • Monitor project performance through health checks and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of Project Construction Information (PCI) packs.
  • Provide detailed reports on project progress and compliance adherence to senior management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing infrastructure, district heating, or utilities projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civils, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and contractor management skills.
  • A strong focus on documentation, health and safety oversight, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • CSCS Project Manager Card and SMSTS qualification (essential).
  • NRSWA card and First Aid qualification (desired).
