About the Role:

A leading construction and engineering company is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team for an exciting and ambitious 100m rail project in London. This multi-disciplinary scheme encompasses rail systems, civil, and infrastructure works.

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be fully accountable for all commercial aspects of the project. You will be a senior figure in a team of 6-8 Quantity Surveyors at varying levels of experience and report directly to the Commercial Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Accountability: Oversee and manage all commercial activities related to the project, ensuring financial efficiency and profitability.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6-8 Quantity Surveyors, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed commercial reports to the Divisional Commercial Director or Senior Commercial Manager.
  • Contract Management: Administer and manage the ICE form of contract, ensuring compliance and effective management of contractual obligations.
  • Project Delivery: Work closely with project teams to ensure successful delivery of the project within the specified time frame and budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing major projects, preferably within the rail industry for main contractors.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of commercial management, cost control, and contract administration under the ICE form of contract.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Professional membership (e.g., RICS) is advantageous.
