Vacancy - Maintenance Operative
We are seeking a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Operative to ensure our clients premises are maintained to a high standard. In this role, you will perform a wide range of maintenance, repair, and general upkeep tasks, ensuring the smooth running of their facilities and providing a safe, functional environment.Someone who can adapt, think on their feet, and balance both technical and physical aspects of facility management. It is a practical, hands-on role that requires independence, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Building Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical (advantage), plumbing, and heating systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve building infrastructure issues promptly.
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Plan and execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs for compliance and reference.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Conduct routine checks on fire safety equipment and ensure it is in proper working order.
- Promote and uphold safety and security standards across the facility.
- Assist with waste management and recycling activities to support sustainability goals.
- Engineering and Mechanical Tasks:
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- Conduct basic mechanical and engineering repairs.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Practical expertise in electrical (advantage), plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and solve problems effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Physical fitness, with the capability to handle heavy lifting when required.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with colleagues and contractors.
- Competency in computer systems to update maintenance logs and records.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with fire safety standards and equipment.
- Experience in waste management and recycling practices.
