Are you looking to use your HR skills in an organisation with a social purpose? If so, this local community hospice needs someone like you, to support the HR function in a generalist role.

The Client

Our client is a community hospice charity, in a beautiful setting near Stroud, that provides free care 365 days a year. They are here to support adults living with life-limiting illnesses, their carers, families and those recently bereaved, by offering a range of locally based free services, to help them achieve a better quality of life whilst living with their illness.

This is an exciting, newly-created role within the HR team, providing quality generalist HR service with responsibility for recruitment and HR analytics.

As a HR Advisor you must have availability for regular office presence.

The Role

TheHR advisor role is important for the day-to-day functioning of the department, taking an advisory role on best practice for recruitment and retention of staff as well as general HR services.

  • Recruitment;Reviewing and updating job descriptions,advising managers on recruitment and selection strategies, training hiring managers on interview techniques,assisting with recruitment campaigns, coordinating theappointment process and managingonboarding, monitoring key recruitment metrics.
  • HR Systems and Data;Using HR systems to compile data, suggesting newHR technology solutions,maintaining employeerecords.
  • Employee Relations;Acting as the point of contact for managers, employees and other HR team members, supporting with various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary,implementing and monitoring HR policies and procedures, supporting and coaching managers in team /individual development and managing performance.
  • Learning and development; Supporting the development of individuals learning, knowledge, skills and competencies and promoting a culture of learning, working withthe Clinical Trainer regarding specialist training in key skill areas for new and existing staff.

The Candidate

In this role you must have excellent attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency. With exceptional interpersonal skills, you will have a passion for people and a people centric approach to your work.

  • Generalist HR experience, with some experience at HR Advisor/Business Partner level.
  • Particular experience desirable; recruitment, talent management, L&D, employee relations, manager advice and support
  • Experience of running HR Projects in support of business objectives.
  • Good experience using HR systems as an administrator or superuser.
  • Experience of analysing data and producing reports.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS office, Outlook and Teams.

Desirable:

  • An interest in the supportive and palliative care agenda.
  • Experiencedeveloping competenciesframework for career development
  • Experience creating and rolling out training for line managers
  • Experience in employer branding initiatives

The Terms

  • Salary £32,000 FTE* (pro-rated for part-time hours agreed).
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 38 days with long service.
  • Minimum 25 hours per week, worked ideally across 4 or 5 days, or up to full-time. They will consider a range of flexible working patterns.
  • Location - ideally based at the offices near Stroud for the majority of time.
