Reed Property and Construction are delighted to be working with a building services contractor, market leaders in planned and reactive maintenance for the public sector and housing.

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to oversee the day-to-day commercial management of assigned contracts. This role involves a range of responsibilities from pre-start inspections to final account settlements, including cost modelling, forecasting, and supply chain procurement and management. The ideal candidate will be adept at achieving results and managing processes to ensure the smooth delivery of works.

Day to Day of the role:

Conduct pre and post inspections for work elements assigned.

Allocate work to subcontractors and monitor the progress, ensuring the completion of properties meets the required standard.

Manage variations between subcontractors, staff, and clients, supported by site inspections to validate variation requests.

Procure and manage subcontractors with the support of the Contract Manager.

Ensure timely and accurate composition and production of applications, invoices, and final accounts.

Handle commercial reporting for the contract; monthly reporting to Senior Management Team & Board as required.

Charge all job costs correctly, including timesheets, purchase invoices, and subcontractor costs.

Liaise with internal and external clients regarding contracts, preparing and presenting all required reports and documentation.

Prepare and collate forecasts in collaboration with the Contract Manager & Operations Manager.

Actively manage margins within business targets and expectations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a relevant sector with experience in Housing, refurbishment, maintenance an advantage.

Strong understanding of pre and post-inspection processes.
