The Role
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused General Needs Housing Officer to join our clients housing management team on an ongoing temporary contract with the opportunity to explore a permenant post in the coming months.You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties and supporting tenants to maintain successful tenancies. This role is vital in ensuring our residents receive the best possible service, with a focus on tenancy sustainment, rent management, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of general needs tenancies, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements and housing policies.

Provide advice and support to tenants on tenancy-related matters, including rent payments, arrears management, and tenancy sustainment.

Conduct home visits, property inspections, and tenancy reviews to ensure properties are well-maintained and tenants are supported.

Work closely with other teams and external agencies to provide holistic support to residents, addressing issues such as welfare benefits, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding concerns.

Handle reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB), taking appropriate action to resolve issues in line with organisational policies.

Facilitate tenant engagement initiatives to encourage community involvement and enhance service delivery.

Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting, using housing management systems effectively.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:

Previous experience in a housing officer or similar role within social housing.

Strong knowledge of tenancy management, housing legislation, and best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first approach.

The ability to manage a diverse caseload, work independently, and prioritise effectively.

Experience dealing with rent arrears, ASB, and safeguarding issues.

Proficiency in IT systems and record-keeping.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
