I’m currently working with a well-established organisation seeking a confident and capable Senior IT Engineer to take a leading role within their technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with deep technical expertise and a strong track record in project delivery, support, and mentoring.

This role will suit someone who enjoys combining hands-on technical work with mentoring and leadership. You’ll be instrumental in driving improvements, leading projects, and maintaining a secure, high-performing IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support for complex hardware, software, and network issues. Act as the escalation point for the wider IT team.

  • System Maintenance & Upgrades: Conduct routine system checks, software updates, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance.

  • Project Management: Lead on IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and new implementations, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

  • Mentorship & Training: Support junior engineers through mentoring and technical training, sharing knowledge and promoting development.

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify recurring technical issues, recommend long-term solutions, and contribute to IT process improvements and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records in the ITSM system, including incidents, changes, and procedural documentation.

Technical Knowledge & Experience:
  • Office 365 Compliance Features: Skilled in implementing and managing features such as DLP, eDiscovery, retention policies, and audit logs in line with regulatory requirements.

  • SharePoint Online Administration: Able to manage, configure and maintain SharePoint Online environments to support collaboration and structured document management.

  • Microsoft Teams Management: Proficient in the deployment and configuration of Microsoft Teams, including policy management and service integration within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

  • Azure & M365 Solutions: Experienced in designing, implementing, and optimising Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions - including assessments, migrations, and security configurations.

  • Cyber Security Fundamentals: Solid understanding of cyber security practices including firewall management, CE and CE+ audits, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and pen testing.
