A globally and established consumer electronics and engineering brand are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their successful and expanding NPD team. Based near Redditch, you will benefit from a starting salary of up to £55k, flexible working, annual bonus with regular pay reviews and opportunities to travel overseas. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new consumer electronic products for an iconic and global household brand.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Robust 3D CAD modelling (such as SolidWorks and/or CREO)
- Leading and development of whole products as well as mechanisms and sub-assemblies
- Performing tolerance analysis to ensure high quality robust design of complex mechanical systems and components using tools such as FMEA, CFD and computer simulation
- End-to-end project management of multiple projects from concept through to manufacture working with other Design Engineers to ensure projects run on time and to budget
- Rapid prototyping, functional lab testing and analysis of test data
- Work with external manufacturing partners and other suppliers
To be considered for this Senior Design Engineer role, you will require:
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer, Product Designer, Development Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
- Qualified to a degree level with either PhD, MSc, MA, Meng, BA, BEng or BSc Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product or Innovation Engineering
- Experience in medical devices, consumer electronics or household/kitchen appliances
- Proven experience in developing plastic injection molded components and enclosures for mass manufacture
- 3D CAD (such as SolidWorks and/or CREO)
