HGV Driver Trainer Location: Warwickshire Job description:Responsible for the complete development and subsequent delivery of the full training package that supports with mentoring of all the HGV drivers across the company. The Driver Trainer is to support the development of safe systems of work that are reflected in the training delivered with full compliance. This role will assist in driver training duties, assessments to maintain a high performance environment.Key accountabilities:
  • Driver recruitment & selection process
  • To design and deliver customised training modules /driver assessments / driver inductions joining the business
  • To ensure all drivers receive a structured training package throughout their career within the business (recording both internal and external training sessions)
  • Ensure all Driver SOP's are updated and adhered to at all times
  • Define & develop safe systems of work which are fundamental to all the training delivered to drivers
  • Delivering Driver CPC Training Sessions
  • Overseeing the training facility by undertaking new training courses to ensure full compliance for all the operating equipment and latest developments within the transport sector.
  • Work with key departments across the business to ensure high standards are met.
  • Maintain training records to ensure compliance to regulatory and internal standards.
  • Support investigations to fully understand the root cause and support the development of additional training.
  • Book external training providers to support driver training if it can not be completed internally.
  • Identify opportunities and implement initiatives in the business to generate cost savings and efficiencies through the driver fleets.
  • Support the health & safety of all colleagues in the workplace.
Skills, experience & qualifications required
  • Full UK Driving License (C&E required)
  • Proven & experienced in LGV Driver Assessments
  • FORs Approved Safe Urban Driver Trainer
  • Competent in documentation, reporting, and maintaining records
  • Excellent Communicator & Presentation Skills
  • Proficiency in IT Systems & Microsoft Office applications
  • Manual Handling Trainer
  • A good knowledge of health & safety
  • ITTSAR / RTITB Registered Trainer
  • JAUPT Approved Driver CPC Experience
