Position: Production Supervisor

Type of role: permanent

Hours of work: 2.00pm to 10.05pm Mon-Thurs (lunch break 6.00pm – 6.20pm), 10.35am to 3.15pm Friday

Salary: £40000 to 43000 per year

Location: Redditch

We are now seeking to recruit Production Supervisor for an engineering aerospace company based in Redditch. The appropriate Production Supervisor will be the first point of contact in the help chain for Production Team Leaders, and operators in their absence, for support in problem solving with ongoing production. Working closely with all other functions and departments of the Business to ensure ongoing, effective production is sustained.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that all EHS policies are followed.
  • Monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions to meet goals.
  • Identifying and implementing improvement plans.
  • Solving problems to their root causes to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicating with others effectively within and outside the work group.
  • Maintaining all production and related quality assurance records.
  • Providing leadership, direction, and motivation to people in assigned area.
  • Managing employee and labour relations effectively including contract administration, grievance handling and day-to-day employee complaints/issues.
  • Meeting or exceeding production goals, which includes monitoring output, safety, on time delivery, and people initiatives within a traditional unit supervisor role.
  • Directing the implementation of initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow, and TPM improvements.
  • Owning cost savings initiatives (degree implementation).
  • Creating and submitting product orders for operational expense items based on departmental need to ensure the continual operation of the department with minimal operational interference.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum hands-on experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing production or engineering discipline.
  • To have strong EHS knowledge with the ability to conduct Risk Assessments, create Safe Working Practices in line with Human performance principles and ideally NEBOSH or IOSH certified.
  • Robust personality with ability to challenge both people and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate across different levels and functional areas in the organisation.
  • Demonstrate the successful leadership of a team consistently achieving its objectives and manage individuals
