Our client, a well-established engineering company based in Sudbury, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from concept to final delivery, within a dynamic and growing business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage equipment contracts from purchase order to delivery.
  • Support project execution and engineering during the design and implementation phases.
  • Review engineering designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare and modify 2D and 3D mechanical drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for manufacturing and customer use.
  • Create and modify work orders for equipment and replacement parts.
  • Conduct mechanical functional testing of equipment and spare parts.
  • Assist sales and engineering teams with cost estimates and sourcing components.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve engineering challenges.
  • Maintain engineering databases, drawing libraries, and documentation in line with ISO standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and lead material testing where required.
  • Support equipment start-ups and technical service activities.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering theory, design principles, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across disciplines.
