Cleaning Operative to part of the facilities maintenance team for our Sudbury based manufacturing client. As cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining Offices, canteen, showrooms and toilets and occasionally covering the factory floor when members of the team are on leave. In your role as cleaning operative, you will use your previous cleaning experience to ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the buildings. This cleaning operative role will be working Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm with the option to work other shifts if required.

The Role

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and wiping surfaces to maintain cleanliness throughout the factory premises.
  • Clean and sanitise restrooms, meeting rooms, showrooms and other communal areas to ensure a hygienic environment for employees.
  • Performing the duties within the company daily cleaning plan, update schedules / records and work collaboratively with all functions on-site
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recyclable materials generated within the factory, following proper waste management procedures and recycling practices.
  • Follow cleaning protocols and use appropriate cleaning chemical and techniques to avoid damage to sensitive equipment.
  • Empty bins, segregate waste streams, and ensure that waste storage areas are kept clean and organised.
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling, and disposal of cleaning chemicals to minimise risks to health and safety.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 6am-2pm with possibility of other shift hours

The Person

  • Must possess previous experience in cleaning experience
  • Must be relatively physically fit
  • Experience working in adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with cleaning procedures, techniques, and equipment
  • Happy to work alone
  • Ideally happy to work at heights and within a factory environment if required
  • Must have a flexible approach to work, reacting to situations as they occur.
  • Have a good understanding of COSHH regulations.
