Supplier Development Engineer

Salary:             £50,000 - £55,000

We are seeking a skilled Supplier Development Engineer to manage and develop supplier relationships, ensuring high-quality standards and continuous improvement across the supply chain. This is a great opportunity to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to drive performance and enhance supplier management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee supplier audit management and ensure compliance with business management systems.
  • Develop and maintain supplier monitoring processes using analytical techniques, KPIs, and scorecards.
  • Manage supplier quality documentation, ensuring records are up to date and accurate.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives using 8D Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies.
  • Conduct 1st and 2nd party audits (lead auditing qualification desirable).
  • Support supplier selection strategies for new product introduction and oversee continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse trends in non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver in-house training to support supplier approval programs.


What We’re Looking For In Our Supplier Development Engineer:

  • Proven experience in a supplier management role within a quality-focused environment.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Six Sigma (Green Belt desirable).
  • Experience working in aerospace or automotive industries preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage with teams of 10-50 people.
