Import Clerk Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire shipping process from initiation to completion
- Provide clients with accurate quotations
- Book shipments using our proprietary freight forwarding software
- Arrange and manage all necessary documentation and customs procedures
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely and safe delivery
- Prioritize maximum customer satisfaction
- Perform administrative tasks within Operations
- Issue sales invoices and process purchase invoices
You will actively manage all import operations, including Air Freight, Sea Freight, Road Freight, and Courier Freight within the UK, Europe, and internationally. This role is dynamic and challenging, with each day offering new experiences. Our client are a small, close-knit team aiming to grow the business, and require the right candidate's to help drive the business forward.
Import Clerk Criteria:
- Knowledge of import procedures for Sea, Air, and Road freight is essential; training will be provided for Import Road Freight shipments
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in freight forwarding
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and personality
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent multitasking abilities
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed
- Experience dealing with overseas freight partners globally
