NPI Project Engineer

We are a Surrey based leading designer and manufacturer of specialist safety equipment for hazardous area electrical equipment serving a global client base across a range of industries. We are now seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our in-house Engineering Team.

This is an exciting time to be joining us as we are continuing to expand our core product ranges, integrating technological developments, responding to an ever-evolving regulatory environment, and the development of bespoke solutions to meet specific customer needs.

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer with previous experience in a product engineering and manufacturing environment working on multiple projects simultaneously. You will be managing the full lifecycle of products from specification, quotation, design, build, test, certification and ultimately installation.

We invite applications from experienced Project Engineers looking and ready to step up to a Project Manager role. We are looking for the following attributes:

  • Previous Project Engineering experience experience within an engineering environment and a strong technical aptitude.
  • Some experience of working on the development of products from concept through to mass production would be beneficial
  • Utilisation of a formal product development process (e.g. Stage / Gate process).
  • Some financial/commercial literacy in terms of being able to lead putting together a business case for projects
  • Understanding costs versus pricing, volumes, development costs, payback, and return on investment
  • Proven project management skills and customer-facing experiences as you will be managing relationships between internal and external stakeholders. You should also have a strong commercial sense and attention to detail, with the ability to problem-solve and ensure stage gates of projects are met on time and within budget.
